About ‘Ameland/Kooikersdunen’ by Rinnie Wijnstra (FotoAmeland )
Ameland/Kooikersdunen The Wadden Sea is the largest wadden region in the world. This shallow sea consists of bottom sand which is washed up from the North Sea by sea currents. Because the tide floods the mud flats twice a day, the current takes mud with it. At high tide, it settles in quiet places.
