Only 3925 units of this vehicle were produced in the years 1970-1977 and which got its model name due to the then World Expo 67 in Montreal, where it was also presented for the first time. Due to its very high gasoline consumption especially with the background of the then first oil crisis in 1973/74 prevented a commercial success.
Thanks to the much better rust prevention than usual at that time, there are still relatively many well-preserved Montreal. The covers for the headlights fold down when the lights are switched on. In motorsport they were only used by private drivers, never officially by Alfa Romeo.
