About ‘Abstract Norwegian seascape’ by Alie ten Hove
My own interpretation of the sea view in a Norwegian fjord, seen from a mountain.
I created this painting after one of many trips to Norway. This time not from a photo, but from my memory. An outcrop of a fjord where the mountains seem to disappear right into it.
Painted in acrylic on canvas.

In my paintings, I use acrylic, watercolour, sometimes ink and often means of applying a lot of texture. I create mostly abstract work, interspersed with more realistic landscapes. Most works are inspired by impressions gained during my travels. Nature is a great source of inspiration for me. By playing with colours, I try to give my work a certain atmosphere and recognisability.
