The Amsterdamse Poort, formerly known as the Spaarnwouderpoort, is a Haarlem city gate dating from around 1400. The gate stands at the end of the Spaarnwouderstraat, the old route from Amsterdam to Haarlem. Tradition has it that Kenau Simonsdochter Hasselaer stood on the ramparts at the Amsterdam Gate to repel the Spanish attack during the Eighty Years' War.
Abraham Rademaker (Lisse, Holland, Netherlands 1676/'77 - Haarlem, 21 January 1735) was a Dutch painter, draftsman, printmaker and dealer. He produced mainly topographical drawings and painted landscapes.
