Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.
Move your phone gently from side to side. Holding it still or waving it around quickly does not help.
Make sure there is enough light. In a dark room your phone has nothing to lock onto.

About ‘Abandoned harbour in silence - The Oyster Pit’ by Jan Jongejan

A tranquil moment captured at the old agricultural harbour "De Oesterput" on Noord-Beveland. From a low vantage point in the corner of the little harbour, a symmetrical interplay of lines of weathered wooden poles unfolds, running away into the distance on either side. The water surface in the foreground is mirror-smooth from the tide, subtly revealing the basalt boulders below. The threatening sky in the background, dark and heavy with rain, reflects in the water, enhancing the atmosphere of desolation and stillness. This photograph captures not only a landscape, but also a sense of timelessness and the power of transience. An ode to Zeeland's tranquillity, where nature and history meet.

Jan Jongejan

Sometime in 1980 Jan bought his first SLR camera and since that time a camera has always been at his fingertips. His varied work ranges from snapshots of people in his immediate surroundings to landscape, macro and bird photography. He is also the regular photographer of his wife's ballet school and thus regularly at work in the theater.
