A woman looks at the Earth in the dark

by Henk Egbertzen

A close-up of a woman’s profile, set against a pitch-black background. She is looking down. Not at the ground, but at the Earth. It floats like a small, blue-green sphere in the darkness beneath her face.

-
The contrast is surreal. Her face is intimate, close, human. The Earth is vast, far away, full of continents and clouds. As if she were a giantess pausing for a moment to contemplate the world she holds in her hands. Or as if the Earth were a memory she is holding onto.

- The light is soft. It falls on her cheek, the line of her nose and the shape of her lips. On the Earth, it reflects off the oceans. Everything is bathed in the same dark, tranquil atmosphere.

- Her expression is calm, almost tender. As if she wants to protect the earth, or is saying goodbye to it. As if she sees something we cannot see. As if the world stands still for a moment.

- The style is surrealist and cinematic. It is a digital image that transports you to a dream world. It is timeless, mysterious and invites you to keep looking. - This piece looks great in a modern living room, office or hallway. For those who love surrealism. For those looking for a statement piece that makes you reflect on our place in the universe.
