I also made this image in the picturesque Austrian mountain village of Heiligenblut, Carinthia.
The peaks to be admired belong to The Hohe Tauern, an elongated mountain massif in the middle of the Central Alps in Austria. That Hohe Tauern is home to Austria's highest mountains, the highest of which is specifically the Grossglockner (3798 m). Since 1981, large parts of the mountain massif have been declared a national park.
That village of Heiligenblut is best known for snow sports tourism, but also for its equally picturesque church, in typical picturesque Austrian Alpine style. But you can't see that in this photo now ;)
While my family mates skied down the slopes, I took time out for two of my passions: trail running (which is great fun in the mountains, especially with a load of fresh and crunching snow, I managed to walk a few vertical kilometres), and wandering around with my camera, looking for beautiful images. Both nature images, and of that picturesque little church.
Another image to dream away at, I think to myself. An image to be on holiday at home, mentally travelling. Because mountains, snow,... I find very soothing, few stimuli, close to yourself, pure enjoyment.
