About ‘'t Haantje’ by Jeroen de Jongh Photography

't Haantje is a former corn mill, located on the Stammerdijk along the Smal in the Dutch municipality of Weesp.

On the spot where 't Haantje now stands, since 1626 there was a seesaw mill that drained the former Kostverlorenpolder. Around 1705 this polder was merged with a number of other polders to form the Community Polder. The larger Community Mill made the seesaw mill superfluous. It was sold and converted into a corn mill.

In 1817 a demolition permit was issued for this mill and in 1820 an oil mill called De Haan was built on the same spot. This mill was converted into a corn mill in 1828. In 1896 't Haantje was sold to the cocoa manufacturer C.J. van Houten, who wanted to save the mill from demolition. In 1918 't Haantje ground for the last time and in 1943 the mill was sold to an artist, who had the work in progress removed.

The mill was restored externally in 1964, followed by a major restoration in 2001/2003. On 23 May 2003 the rotating restored mill 't Haantje was festively reopened. Stelling and windmill are the property of Stichting Molen 't Haantje. 't Haantje is not on display.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
