Adolphe Williams Bouguereau 1825 - 1905) was a French academic painter. He is best known as William Bouguereau, the name by which he signed his works. Bouguereau passes as one of the most important representatives of French academic art. He found a lot of inspiration in Greek mythology (allegorical subjects, idyllic rural scenes ...). In other canvases, family scenes and childhood take centre stage.
