About ‘Sunrise over Playa María Jiménez’ by Walter G. Allgöwer

A gentle glow of morning light settles over Playa María Jiménez, as if the day itself were taking a deep breath before it begins. The first rays of sunshine dance across the colourful façades of the small coastal neighbourhood, making the yellow, pink and blue hues look like dreams just waking up. The silence of the night still lingers between the houses, yet the sea knows no rest. It crashes with tireless force against the dark rocks, throwing white spray into the air as if telling stories that only the wind understands.
Here, Puerto de la Cruz reveals its most poetic side: a place where the wild and the human do not fight each other, but embrace. The surf paints fleeting patterns on the stones, whilst the sun slowly climbs higher and the shadows grow shorter. A restaurant sign shimmers in the golden light, as if inviting the world to take a seat and listen to the rhythm of the waves.
In this moment, everything seems in balance – the colours, the light, the murmur of the Atlantic. A moment that does not want to be captured, but simply experienced, like a silent promise of the new day.
