Replica of the Sopwith Triplane N 500.
The Sopwith Triplane (triplane) was a British World War I single-seat fighter produced by the Sopwith Aviation Company. The aircraft was nicknamed the Tripe or the Tripehound.
The first prototype of this aircraft flew on 28 May 1916, from December 1916 it was used during the war by the Royal Navy Air Service.
A total of only 147 were built because the Allies needed a better aircraft earlier than expected after the introduction of the Albatross D.II to the German Empire.
