A poppy, simple and pure. For many years the symbol of the 1st World War. Poppies bloomed frequently on the battlefields in Flanders.
A few lines of the poem, written by John McCrae, a Canadian army doctor, who did not survive the 1st World War:
"In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row, ...."
This image was made with multiple exposures in camera with the later addition of a layer of texture.
