Capturing landscapes between reality and abstraction in a picture is the inspiration, the challenge, the demotivation and ultimately the engine to keep going and to meet this challenge. Through an intensive mental as well as painterly examination of their own work results in a continuous process. From picture to picture in a sometimes more naturalistic, the other time in a more abstract way of seeing and working. Inspired by landscape photographs of the local area. In particular, the view from the Rhine valley to the mountains is captivating. But also the view from the mountains over the local vineyards or the mystical view of cirque lakes represent interesting motifs. The different times of day and seasons, as well as weather conditions, result in a wide variety of moods and a broad spectrum of color nuances. Sometimes works arise from the idea, which at some point, sometimes after months, emerge as images in the head and then brought to the canvas. The view is directed here in particular not to use the beautiful, bright and unmixed colors. It is not about beauty in the conventional sense, but about capturing moods. It sometimes happens that in an initial summer landscape peu a peu the snow falls. Often the tendency and color harmony go hand in hand with the coming season. And the result suddenly appears in a different light, mood or season than at the beginning of the work.
