About ‘Namibia Desert’ by Anneke Hooijer

The Namibia Desert is the oldest desert in the world and also one of the driest deserts on the planet. On average, it receives only 2mm to 85mm of rainfall per year. The vast desert landscapes and giant dunes create an almost unearthly setting. The deathly silence of the sand with the ever constant blowing wind makes the Namibia Desert feel like a primal force of unparalleled beauty. The intense orange complexion of the dune sand seems to come alive during the ever-changing light of dawn.
The Namibia Desert comprises most of the Namib-Naukluft National Park and is a whopping 49,768m2 in size. This is even bigger than Switzerland and also the largest national park in Africa! The Namib-Naukluft desert covers seas of sand dunes, various (dry) riverbeds, rocky mountain ranges, solitary 'inselbergs' and gravel plains which alternate at a rapid pace.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
