The water of the river Vesteråselva near Geiranger in Norway finds its way from the high mountains. The point at which the photo was taken offers a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The water of the river runs behind me, along a field further down to supply the waterfall Storsæterfossen with a thunderous roar a little further on. This is a popular waterfall, because you can walk behind it, a nice experience.
The walk to this point and to the waterfall from the valley of Geiranger is well worth the effort. You cover some 500 meters and are then rewarded with beautiful views of the mountains, waterfalls and snow on the peaks (depending on the season). But, it is a tourist walking route, you do not walk alone.
If you want more peace and quiet, then walk a bit further from this point. Most people stop at the field and the waterfall. We walked a little further up and we were sorry that we didn't have more time, the untouched mountains and natural beauty there enticed...
