Maasbrug or The Old Bridge as it is still often called locally was later inaugurated as the Saint Servatius Bridge. The bridge in Maastricht consisted entirely of Roman-style arches but since the advent of cargo shipping, the largest arch and passage was replaced by an iron straight lift bridge.
