About ‘Hverfell’ by Lex Schulte

The explosion crater Hverfell or Hverfjall in the Myvatn area. The Hverfell, also known as the Hverfjall, is a cone volcano in northern Iceland in the Myvatn area. Both names mean hot-springs mountain. The volcano was formed about 2500 years ago in a few days. The ejected lava cooled down almost immediately by water, making the annular volcano almost entirely composed of fins, ash and fine gravel. The volcano is 312 meters high, has a crater with a diameter of about 1 kilometer and is 140 meters deep. In the middle of the crater lies a small asheuvel. The crater wall is climbed through two not too difficult roads and a walk around provides beautiful views of Lake Myvatn. To avoid damaging the tighter structure of the volcano, do not leave the footpaths. On earth there are only few volcanoes of this type: a second (Lúdent) is located next to the Hverfell; A third, a little bit smaller, Diamond Head, is located in Hawaii.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
