The Dom Church was built from 1254 as the cathedral of the diocese of Utrecht and was dedicated to St Martin. Since 1580, the church has been Protestant. This evening, the Dom Church was illuminated by lights on the Dom Square that highlighted the work for Dom Square 2013. Shadows from the trees fall over the dark Dom Church. The photo was taken in the evening of 23 August 2013, Dark Utrecht. That's the name of my series of photos of Utrecht places after sunset. Most Donker Utrecht photos were shot at dusk.
