About ‘Black Deer’ by Mieke Van den Hende

The black deer is rare in the Netherlands but in 1 specific case it showed up at the right time. It was labeled as 'a good omen'. This inspired me to make several graphic illustrations. At the same time it is an ode to our fragile nature in conflict with the human environment. Something the deer on the road sign 'crossing the road'…

Mieke Van den Hende startte ongeveer 19 jaar geleden StudioMie. Ze werkte eerst onder verschillende namen: mvdhende voor artwork, van den hende ontwerpt voor grafisch ontwerp en Ctrl-O voor ruimtelijk ontwerp. Met StudioMie verzamelt ze alle disciplines onder één dak.

Mieke Van den Hende is geboren in Gent (BE) waar ze een vooropleiding volgde en op 18-jarige leeftijd haar diploma 'Latijn-Wetenschappen' behaalde aan het Sint-Pieters-Instituut.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
