Butterbur in the period from autumn to winter in a park in Amsterdam. Botanical impression in lines and colours. Beauty of decay. It is the transition from fresh green leaves in summer to an ocean of warm autumn colours in autumn that fascinates. Some leaves transform into 'pure'gold. Also the wonder of the movement the leaf makes as they begin to turn inwards from open and green in this elegant shape. The leaf takes on so many different shapes and colours that I have created a series of them. It is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for me. For these drawings, I used coloured pencil on smooth watercolour paper (hot pressed).
