About ‘evening sun’ by anne droogsma

Evening sun is the special illumination of the sun in the early evening, which can occur in clear to slightly cloudy weather. It thus contrasts with the dawn, the dawn, also called the morning red. It is the opening scene of twilight. What is illuminated by the evening sun undergoes an optical transformation that is generally considered pleasant.

Sometimes the evening sun can colour the sky evening red.

The term has a place in everyday language, except perhaps in urbanised areas with subcultures living among high-rise buildings. Country houses bear the name Evening Sun or Villa Evening Sun and are built for it. As a name for buildings, Evening Sun is also used metaphorically in the sense of the last stage of life. Several nursing homes, such as Avondzon in Northbroek, are the representatives of this.
