White stars over the Allgäu Alps

The tranquillity of a summer’s day lies over the rugged ridges of the Allgäu Alps, clear and vast as an unwritten poem. The mountains rise out of the light, angular and powerful, their green flanks criss-crossed by rocky ridges, as though wind, weather and time had all worked together to shape this landscape. A deep blue stretches across the summits, whilst the last patches of snow in hidden hollows tell of the long winter.
In the foreground, the white Alpine anemones dance in the mountain breeze. Blurred yet ever-present, they frame the scene like a painter’s delicate brushstrokes. Their white blossoms seem to capture the sunlight and pass it on between heaven and earth. They stand where the ground is barren and conditions appear harsh, lending the mountain world an unexpected gentleness.
The view from the Laufbacher-Eckweg across to the striking Höfats leads through a landscape full of contrasts. Hardness and fragility, grandeur and transience meet here within a very small space. The mighty peaks seem timeless, whilst the flowers reveal their beauty for just a few weeks each year. It is precisely in this that their magic lies.
Anyone who pauses here may, for a moment, sense how everything comes together: the radiance of the flowers, the clarity of the mountain air and the quiet dignity of the mountains, forming a picture that remains in the memory long after one has moved on,
