About ‘Barmsee and Karwendel’ by Walter G. Allgöwer

On a glorious October day, Lake Barmsee lies still and clear before me, nestled in the picturesque landscape of Werdenfelser Land in Upper Bavaria. The gentle waves of the lake reflect the bright blue sky, while the majestic peaks of the Karwendel mountains rise proudly in the background. In the clear autumn air, the rugged mountain peaks stand out clearly against the sky, still occasionally covered in snow. The colours of nature glow in the golden light of autumn: lush green meadows, the reddish-brown and yellow leaves of the trees that surround the lake like little splashes of colour, and the deep blue of the water glistening in the sun.
The tranquil atmosphere is only interrupted by the chirping of birds and the soft rustling of leaves. It is a moment in which time seems to stand still. The Barmsee seems like a hidden gem, surrounded by the impressive backdrop of the Karwendel mountains, which tower over everything and blur the boundaries between earth and sky. This peaceful place in the Bavarian Alpine landscape is a reminder of how precious and powerful nature can be. Here, in the heart of Europe, the beauty of Upper Bavaria is revealed in all its splendour.
