Alpine spring in the Allgäu

Amidst the gently sloping meadows of Gerstruben, spring lies over the land like a gentle breath. The old mountain farming village in the Dietersbach Valley seems as though time has slowed its pace here. The light of a clear May day dances across the flowering meadows, whilst countless flowers stretch their colours towards the sky. Dandelions, daisies and delicate meadow flowers weave together into a carpet that shimmers in gentle waves in the wind.
The dark forests at the foot of the Allgäu Alps rise up towards the rugged peaks, whose rocks still bear the memory of snow and winter. Amidst them stand the old timber-framed houses, quiet and rooted, as if they had been part of this hillside for centuries. No noise penetrates this scene – only the humming of insects, the distant ringing of cowbells and the rustling of leaves tell of life in the mountains.
Gerstruben is a place where nature and history merge. Here, spring seems to touch not only the landscape, but also the soul. Anyone who takes in this view feels, for a moment, that rare tranquillity which only the mountains can bestow – vast, clear and timeless.
