About ‘Where time passes and peace remains’ by Walter G. Allgöwer

The sun slowly sinks behind the rolling hills of Luang Prabang, its light bathing the Mekong in liquid gold. The river, ancient and venerable, glides silently along as if carrying the stories of centuries past in its flow. On the horizon, the colours merge - a fire of orange, purple and deep blue - and paint a picture that only nature can create.
A single boatman stands on his narrow boat, his silhouette silhouetted against the light like a shadow from another time. With calm movements, his paddle cuts through the water, which glistens like silk in the twilight. The world seems to hold its breath as the day bows and the night spreads its veil of mist and silence.
On the banks, dark branches frame the picture as if to preserve it - this moment full of peace, beauty and contemplation. The Mekong speaks softly to those who can listen: of transience, of equanimity, of eternal flow. And those who stand there, at the edge of this river, may feel for a moment that time does not count - only the light, the water and the heart, which becomes still in the face of beauty.
