The power of the elements - Madeira between sea and sky

Storm on the Atlantic - Madeira in turmoil
The pier stretches defiantly into the raging sea, a narrow ridge of concrete, framed by rusting railings that defy the wind like old warriors. Madeira lies behind me, but the Atlantic rears up in front of me - wild, untamed, elemental. A wave, as high as a house, crashes at the end of the bridge, as if it wants to swallow up the man-made, reclaim it into the depths.
The sky, a mosaic of dark rancour and silver light, reflects the restlessness of the elements. Spray dances over the stones like white ghosts, the wind sings a song of salt and longing. Every step on the pier is a dialogue with nature - a whisper between man and sea, between steadfastness and devotion.
Here, on the edge of Europe, where Portugal listens to the ocean, time becomes meaningless. The storm is not an enemy, but a mirror of inner movement. And while the waves crash as if they want to reshape the world, I sense that this is not a place of escape, but of realisation. Madeira gives me not just a view, but insight - into the power that lies in every rebellion.
