About ‘The calm before the sunrise’ by Walter G. Allgöwer

Even before the day takes its first breath, the jetty lies still in the pale blue of the night. The sea is little more than a whisper, a smooth surface mirroring the sky, as if someone had paused the world for a moment. The lettering above the entrance seems like a quiet invitation, a promise of warmth that will only be fulfilled with the sun.
The wooden planks bear the traces of past footsteps, yet now this place belongs solely to the moment. A few boats rest in the distance, motionless as thoughts not yet fully formed. Between the dark contours of the hills, the first light gathers, timidly, tentatively, as if seeking its way.
Here, time loses its sharpness. Every breath grows deeper, every sound clearer. The soft lapping of the water against the jetty speaks of vastness and of arrival at the same time. And somewhere between sky and sea, the feeling arises that anything is possible — that every beginning can be gentle if one receives it in such silence.
The morning is just waiting to be born.
