About ‘The Awakened Series’ by Walter G. Allgöwer

In the warm light of day, they sit in silent harmony, an endless row of figures whose tranquillity outlasts time. A pause set in stone: each Buddha lingers in the same moment – that threshold between seeking and awakening. Their hands touch the earth as if gently questioning it, as if listening for an answer that resounds only within.
Light wanders between the figures, settling on shoulders and faces, highlighting contours and then fading back into the shadows. Just as thoughts come and go, the stillness behind them remains untouched. The repetition of the forms is not uniformity, but a gentle rhythm, a breath of stone. Every gaze is turned inwards and yet open to all that is.
The world outside may be changing, but here it seems to stand still for a moment. A place where time does not press on, but unfolds. And as one looks along this row, one becomes part of this stillness – invited to touch the earth, in spirit, and to hear the whisper of the moment.
