Peace and quiet in the Dietersbach Valley

A touch of gold lies over the Dietersbach Valley. Like a delicate string of pearls, the old beech trees stand in a row, weathered by the years, yet proud in their autumnal splendour. Their crowns glow in the warm southern light. They shine in an intense yellow that makes one forget the grey rock of the Allgäu Alps. Every leaf seems to have captured the last warm rays of the year’s sunshine, only to now release them in a grand finale. Behind the avenue rises the dark mountain forest. Its deep greens and soft reds form a silent backdrop to this spectacle of nature. A wooden fence stretches wearily along the slope, as if trying to hold back time. On the ground, the meadow stretches out, still green, yet already strewn with the first harbingers of transience. Here, in the tranquillity near Oberstdorf, the landscape breathes a deep sense of calm. The wind whispers softly through the bare branches. It tells tales of the past summer and of the approaching winter, which will soon cover the peaks with snow. It is a moment of pause, captured in the golden light of the Allgäu. A peaceful farewell that warms the soul.
