About ‘Light over the raging waters’ by Walter G. Allgöwer

At Playa María Jiménez, the morning awakens like a quiet secret, yet the sea knows no restraint. The waves crash in as if to drive the night from the rocks, and their white cresting in the early light seems like the glow of ancient powers. A breath of gold hangs over the horizon, a first glimmer that does not calm the raging surf, but lends it a touch of magic.
Here, on the coast of Puerto de la Cruz, every wave crest seems to carry a story – of wandering winds, of distant islands, of the ceaseless movement of the ocean that never sleeps. The roar of the surf mingles with the whisper of the wind, and for a moment it seems as though a gateway is opening between the worlds: the realm of the elements and the realm of dreams.
The rocks stand dark and steadfast amidst the foam, like guardians of an ancient ritual. Above them, the sky stretches out, still delicate and hesitant, yet ready to welcome the day. In this interplay of light and storm, of turmoil and awakening, lies a quiet mysticism – a sense that the sea knows more than it ever reveals.
