In the realm of lava and mist

Amidst black lava scree and silent rocks, it blooms almost unreal: the Teide daisy, a delicate daisy of light and wind. Its white blossoms shine like tiny stars upon the volcano’s frozen breath. Here, in the rugged expanse of the Caldera de las Cañadas, where fire once shaped the landscape and left silence in its wake, it defies the barrenness with quiet beauty.
Over the dark slopes, the trade wind clouds drift by, veiling the crater walls of the Teide like a wandering veil. Mist creeps across the lava fields, dissolving contours and leaving the landscape suspended between earth and sky. Everything seems ancient, as if time itself had slowed its pace here.
The tiny Argyranthemum teneriffae grows only on Tenerife, rooted in this volcanic world of ash, stone and wind. Precisely for this reason, it tells us more than just a story of botany. It tells a story of survival. Of fragility that can be stronger than hardness. Of beauty that needs no garden to exist.
And whilst the clouds come and go, it remains there – still, steadfast and bright – a small sign of life in the midst of the volcano’s realm.
