First light over Puerto de la Cruz

Between night and the first light, the coast holds its breath. A veil of blue and grey hangs over Playa María Jiménez, as if the morning has not yet decided whether to arrive. The houses of Puerto de la Cruz, huddled close together, rest like thoughts left unspoken. A few windows glow softly, small islands of warmth in the cool twilight.
The sea speaks in hushed tones. Its waves carry stories from the darkness, rolling gently against the black rocks and retreating again, as if they did not wish to reveal anything. The wind brushes over the rooftops, whispers through alleys that are still empty, and touches the façades, which shimmer in shades of white, ochre and delicate pastels.
Here, on this edge of the island, time seems to stand still for a moment. Not a footstep, not a call – just the quiet pulse of a world in transition. The horizon begins to open almost imperceptibly, a promise of light that is still distant and yet already palpable.
And as the day slowly takes shape, this fragile balance persists: between dream and awakening, between stillness and movement – a fleeting moment that contains everything.
