Between rugged rock and lush greenery

In the Allgäu Alps, where the Laufbacher-Eckweg winds its way like a slender thread through the vast expanse, a window onto eternity opens up. The view falls upon the Höfats, that proud figure which, at 2,259 metres, watches over the Allgäu like a stone crown. It is a place where time stands still. In the foreground lie the grey guardians of the depths: massive boulders, scarred by the kisses of the wind and the hard work of millennia. Life clings tenaciously to their rugged flanks – a carpet of lush green, speckled with the bright splashes of alpine flowers that bravely face the sun. They are the silent witnesses to an irrepressible vitality amidst the harsh mountain world. Behind them rises the majestic backdrop of the Allgäu Alps. Jagged peaks, sometimes cloaked in deep emerald green, sometimes bare and rugged, trace a silhouette of longing against the flawless azure of the firmament. Here, on the threshold between Bavaria and the endless horizon of Europe, one feels one’s own insignificance and, at the same time, a deep connection with nature. It is not merely a panorama; it is a silent prayer of stone, light and pure mountain air.
