Close to the muZEEum, on the Oranjedijk (also called the Green Boulevard), stands the Oranjemolen. It is the closest mill to the sea in the Netherlands! The corn mill has been there for about'three centuries and has had a lot to endure in its long life. In 1809, for instance, it was hit by a bullet that is still in it.
The Oranjemolen (1699) is a corn mill and former flour mill on the Oranjedijk in Vlissingen . It is a round stone scaffold mill with a flight of 24.50 metres. This mill was mentioned as early as 1699 but it is unknown when it was built.
