The inspiration for this work arose from the desire to capture the special combination of water, architecture and history in Bamberg. I was attracted by the composition of movement and tranquillity - the boat as a contrast to the static but lively old town.
The atmosphere is deliberately calm, almost introspective. I wanted to capture a moment that was not spectacular but authentic - an everyday view that nevertheless has depth.
