About "The Bødalsbreen Glacier in Norway"

About the artwork

In the southwest of Norway, in the province of Vestland, lies the Bødalsbreen. This is a glacier at 1148 meters altitude in the Jostedalsbreen National Park. The complete Jostedalsbreen glacier has an area of 487 km2, making it the largest glacier on mainland Europe.

I took the photo in June during a walk in a beautiful valley, near the lake Lovatnet near Loen. We first drove into the mountains by car on a part of toll road and once at the top we could start the walk. NB: the toll road cost NOK 100, pay cash (2022).

The walk through the valley was beautiful. We walked between high mountains on narrow paths between trees and shrubs that were just gently coming into leaf. The pass was still quite wet, you could see that there had been snow on it recently. In some parts we also had to go right through the snow. As we got closer to the glacier, those parts with snow got bigger. And then we turned a corner and suddenly saw the glacier... Very special to see! It is an impressive piece of nature with all these chunks of upright ice, brought on by great forces.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
