About the artwork

THE WINNING OF INDRAJIT: Indrajit was the son of Ravana named Meghanada. He was a fervent devotee of Lord Shiva who taught him the art of Samadhi, the art of invisibility.

Indrajit or Meghanada, according to Hindu texts, was a prince of Lanka and possessor of Indra Loka (heaven). He is considered one of the greatest warriors in Hindu texts.

This print of the Ravi Varma press, derived from a painting by Raja Ravi Varma, shows the triumph of Meghanada who proudly shows and presents his spoils of war, including an apsara, Suchi to Ravana. This print is from a painting in the Jaganmohan Palace in Mysore.

Men with moustaches and beards in a harness of gold are standing in the street. In the background women are standing at the top of the stairs in beautiful clothes and gold chains. A woman seems to be taken by the picture against her will. She is standing topless and her boob is exposed.

Raja Ravi Varma (India 29 April 1848-2 October 1906) was a celebrated Indian painter and artist. He is considered one of the greatest painters in the history of Indian art. His works are one of the best examples of the fusion of European academic art with a purely Indian sensitivity and iconography.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
