About "Railway station of Porto"

About the artwork

It was the year 2015, I was waiting in São Bento Train Station, in Praça de Almeida Garrett, to catch the train to visit the wine regions of Porto, in northern Portugal when I said to myself: why is it me and only me on the platform? Did the train already passed and I missed it?

And there it was, that little but deep feeling of emptiness that we feel when we realize we have missed a train, a plane, an opportunity.

On this capture, the man sitting some meters away and looking at the camera reinforces the idea of being late, being kind of lonely, kind of lost.

Luckily, I didn't miss the train that day. In fact, I arrived too early, that's why it was only me (and this man, and another person) with me on the platform. But the result was this curious beautiful photograph that opens a door to imagination.

Always thought there is some magic poetry in train stations, places where a lot of feelings converge. The sadness of goodbyes, the happiness of arrivals, the incertitude of a new life, of new beginnings. They are powerful nostalgic places.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
