About "Portrait of Sitting Bull"

About the artwork

Sitting Bull was a legendary native leader and warrior of the Lakota tribe, known for his unwavering courage and determination. Born in 1831 near the Grand River in present-day South Dakota, Sitting Bull grew up during a time of increasing tensions between the Lakota and the American settlers who were moving further and further west. Sitting Bull was a visionary who believed that the Lakota should be an independent and free people, in harmony with nature and their traditional way of life. He led his people in several battles against US forces, including the famous Battle of Little Bighorn in 1876, in which the Lakota and their allies won a crushing victory over a much larger US force. Despite his military successes and leadership, Sitting Bull faced increasing pressure from the US government and the rise of the Ghost Dance movement, which the authorities considered threatening. In 1890, he was arrested and killed by police during a failed attempt to arrest him for alleged participation in the Ghost Dance. Sitting Bull was revered by his people and has become a symbol of indigenous resistance and struggle for freedom and justice. His legacy lives on in the culture and history of the Lakota and other indigenous peoples of North America.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
