A vibrant butterfly with orange, black, and white wing patterns is perched on green foliage. Its wings are fully spread, showcasing the distinctive eye-like spots which are a common feature in many butterfly species. Most people will recognize this as the peacock butterfly (Inachis io). The watercolour-style photograph on which this digital work is based comes from my garden, where the species feasts every summer on the nectar of the countless flowers of some Elaeagnus bushes.
