About "Paul Löbe House in Berlin's government district in black and white"

by Silva Wischeropp

About the artwork

This urban, modern architectural landscape in Berlin's government district on the banks of the Spree River by the Reichstag shows the Paul Löbe House and was taken in the early evening hours with the Nikon D90 on 17 June 2009.
The abstraction of the colour tones into the classic black and white gives the motif remarkable, graphic lines as well as an elegant, timeless atmosphere.

Only a few metres away from the Reichstag building is the Paul Löbe House. Named after the last democratic Reichstag president of the Weimar Republic, the light-filled building in the Spree Arc is part of the "Ribbon of the Federation", which connects the two parts of the capital formerly separated by the Wall across the Spree. The "Band des Bundes" consists of the new Chancellery, the Paul Löbe House on the west side of the river and the Marie-Elisabeth Lüders House on the east side.
