The Neckarwestheim nuclear power plant ("Gemeinschaftskernkraftwerk Neckar" GKN) in Neckarwestheim in Baden-Württemberg, Germany with two pressurised water reactors was the last active nuclear power plant in Germany when it was shut down on 15 April 2023.
Situated directly on the Neckar river, it is also notable for its low cooling tower: This so-called "hybrid cooling tower" with a much lower height than a normal cooling tower, was primarily built for visual landscape protection reasons.
