Mantel baboons are found in the African countries of Ethiopia, Somalia and Sudan. These monkeys can be found there on the steppes and on the cliffs. It is especially important for the baboons that there is water nearby and sufficient food, but also a sleeping rock within walking distance. Mantel baboons prefer to live in very large groups: the more, the better!
The males have a silver mantle, the females are brown. The gray mane shows how old a male is; the guys have the thickest bunch of hair when they are in the prime of life.
