About the artwork

One heart is nice but a lot of hearts together is even nicer. I thought so too when I was at Casa di Giulietta in Verona, Italy. According to legend, this was Juliet's house and the tragedy took place here. So this is the place for couples in love to write their names on a love lock, hang it up and then throw away the key. The result is thousands of bright red and pink locks with names of people from all over the world on them. I loved it so I photographed them full-frame, and I think this work could become a real eye-catcher.

The Casa di Giulietta in Verona, Italy, is a romantic destination home to the famous balcony from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Tourists from all over the world visit this place to experience the atmosphere of this legendary love story. Besides the balcony, the courtyard is decorated with countless love locks hanging from the fences. Visitors, inspired by Romeo and Juliet's tragic yet timeless love, leave their own clasps as a symbol of their love and eternal connection. A colourful addition to this already romantic venue, the clasps are a tangible reminder of the stories of love that still surround and cherish this place.
