Kootwijkerzand is a drifting sand area. Not just one, but the largest in Western Europe. The sandy area is part of the Veluwe. Little vegetation can be found in this area, some fly pines and grasses survive the dry and poor soil. This little flower was the only one in the distant area as a bonus a hoverfly . The threatening sky with later thunderstorms completes the picture.
