About the artwork

*** Attention: Real photography - no AI! ***

Innsbruck is the capital of the federal state of Tyrol in western Austria. With just over 130,000 inhabitants, it is the most populous city in Tyrol and the fifth largest city in Austria. Innsbruck is a popular winter sports centre in the Alps. The Nordketten cable car takes you from the city centre up to an altitude of 2,256 m.

The old town with its historic buildings such as the Golden Roof, the Hofburg and the Ottoburg is located right in the centre of the city. The old town centre is easy to explore on foot. Everything is traffic-calmed and easily accessible. The Nordkette mountain range can be seen in the background, which is particularly picturesque. The narrow alleyways invite you to stroll around.

St Anne's Column stands in Innsbruck's Maria-Theresien-Straße. It was named after St. Anne's Day (26 July) in 1703, when the last of the Bavarian troops that had invaded Tyrol during the War of the Spanish Succession were driven out.

Maria-Theresien-Straße was named after Empress Maria Theresa. It is a wide shopping street and a central street in Innsbruck.
