About "Flatboats in zeeland"

About the artwork

The first humans settled in Zealand about 15,000 years ago. The name zeeland is derived from the medieval word Zeelandia. The province consisting mainly of water is best known among water sports enthusiasts. But hikers, cyclists also like to celebrate their holidays in zeeland. The many wooden jetties where pleasure yachts can moor form grateful photo objects. Especially at sunset, as shown in the photo here, you can take beautiful pictures. Zeeland remains an attraction for many tourists. The lonely flat-bottomed boat looks deserted while the wind rustles over the water. Flatboats are so called because of their flat bottom, with no keel. The swords on the side of the boat take over the role of the keel and ensure that the flatboat can stay on course. Because the keel is missing, the flatboat has little draught and can lie on a sandbank even in tidal waters at low tide. In the province of Friesland, flatboats were used to transport their cargo of peat.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
