Beautiful old canal houses, or "grachtenpanden" in Dutch, along the Nieuwe Herengracht near the Entrepot Dok in Amsterdam.
The Nieuwe Herengracht is close to the National Maritime museum and Artis, the famous Zoo in Amsterdam.
Coming from the National Maritime museum, just a couple minutes walk, one can stroll along the great canals of Amsterdam and enjoy the old canal houses with their beautiful entrances and constructions.
Weather conditions while taking this image were changing all the time but both light and clouds made for a stunning shot. The row of old houses and leading lines of the quay created also for a nice depth of field.
It's always great to see these old buildings and to understand their historic background. These houses are often old, small, high and deep, with a basement and many of them were used as warehouse to store goods. Most of them have a garden behind the building.
This handheld shot with a Nikon D850 and Tampon 24-70 lens resulted in this stunning image and will be great on your wall.
