A classic Italian sports car, the De Tomaso Pantera is a fine example of classic Italian design. It was first introduced in 1971 as a modified-Group 4 version. The first Pantera was developed by British engineer Mike Parkes. In 1972, a more powerful version came out. The two models share a similar engine. The 1970s model was a restyled, more powerful variant.

In the early 70s, the Pantera was made in Italy. The Ford company imported it to the United States and marketed it in Lincoln-Mercury dealerships. This was the first mid-engined production car. Eventually, the Pantera would become a much sought-after classic. But the production car became so popular that Ford decided to offer it in the U.S. It is a unique piece of automotive history.

The Pantera was a highly successful car. Among the first production cars to be manufactured with a mid-engine, the Pantera was a hit. It was a huge success for Ford, which brought it to the United States to sell in their Lincoln-Mercury dealerships. It is an extremely rare vehicle and deserves to be kept as such. It is one of the most desirable and iconic sports cars in the world.
