Dandelions are fun and cheerful to see. But they only become really interesting and photogenic, as far as I am concerned, when they have finished flowering. Then the perfectly round shape emerges. Which in turn is made up of identical seed pods, each on its own stalk. Really wonderful to see.
You can go in many directions with these fluffy seeds in terms of photography. Whether you photograph a field full of fluff, an individual specimen or a close-up, it is always fascinating and different to see.
I photographed this seed fluff with backlighting. This makes the seeds at the ends clearly visible. Other specimens are also vaguely visible. The conversion to black and white finishes the photo.
